IMAGE MAKING | Sins book layout

I have been working on my cover page and my inside layout for my Seven Deadly Sins project. I wanted to incorporate the colors of my photos on my booklet cover and my second and third pages.
I first used an image from my photo collection, but then I realized we were not to use a images on the front cover. But anyways this is what I had initially had:

I had wanted to use the feet on the front cover to allude to the fact the my book was using only the feet (from the knee and down) to portray the seven deadly sins.

But after changing my cover and inside pages, I am much more pleased with them, and believe it is much more powerful to have the audience not knowing exactly what to expect. So yeah, expect the unexpected:

I have not finished my colophon. But it will look very similar to the examples above. It will have the salmon colored bar with the text matching the background, creating a bleed.

Sequental Process (& what I have learned)

Things I have learned throughout this project:

1) Measure, measure, measure! Take it slow; make sure it's all correct, exact measurements. This goes along with my craft. I am improving, but at this point I feel I should be much better. Practice makes perfect...I need the practice.

2) Line tracing is a pain, but very worth it. Along with craft, the processes I went through to get to my final projects always amazing me. Tracing allowed me to "craft my craft" and ultimately improve my digital lines.

3) Multitasking is key. I have greatly improved on this since I have entered KCAI. But I know I am still improving and continue to juggle everything, in hopes to succeed.

4) Patience. This is something I feel I always need to work on, not just in school. This goes hand in hand with this project. You spend so much time perfecting, vectoring, and cutting; that without staying clam and collected, all would be a disaster. But when it comes to measuring and craft, patience is a trait that will allow me perfect my pieces. And ultimately succeed.

Booklet Progression

I am going to post a few screen shots of my progress on my othos and letters for color form. I am still working on them. Having a ittle trouble with the letters on the buildings. Can't seem to get the letters to send to the back. Hmm.
